This is a ONE-HALF (0.5#) POUND box of Mixed Specialty Mushrooms, it will contain approximately equal amounts of each of the Specialty varieties that we are currently growing. Currently, that includes at least three of the varieties listed below:

The Coral Tooth mushroom is from the same genus as our Lion’s Mane, but it has an entirely different look and a sweeter flavor similar to a scallop or lobster. Because of its’ barbed-wire-like branches with teeth, this mushroom is great to chop up and sauté with other vegetables, or make into an awesome risotto!

The Lion’s Mane mushroom is absolutely loaded with nutritional benefits, and in addition to that, it has a taste and texture similar to crab meat and makes a great vegetarian/vegan crab cake. Another great thing about this mushroom is how versatile it is. It can be diced very easily for roasting and sautéing, as well as sliced into large planks to be grilled.

Maitake or Hen of the Woods is named as such because of its roasted chicken flavor. A prized mushroom among chefs, it is very easy to saute, smoke, or roast with some mixed vegetables. It has a firm texture and amazing flavor.

Chestnut mushrooms have a look that is very similar to a Shiitake, except that the entire mushroom is edible! This fungus has an awesome nutty and woodsy flavor, as well, the texture is still slightly “al dente” after cooking.

Packaged in Units of 0.5 lbs. Texas Fungus produces the best mushrooms available and packaged fresh for you to eat at home.
